Conduction is a shamir which will summon lightning at the position of entities around you. For details on how to create a cast with metal band, see the [[Metallurgy#Casting Metals|Metallurgy]] page. The Shamir is found on a Thorium band, and can be placed onto iron tools. For details on adding a Shamir to an item, see the [[Metallurgy#Attaching Bands|Metallurgy]] page.

If a player holds a conduction tool in their hand, it will start to gather energy. After about 16 seconds, a lightning bolt icon will appear on the screen, indicating that lightning is ready to strike. While the lightning bolt icon is on the player's screen, lightning will be summoned at random intervals in an 8-block radius around the player, striking nearby mobs, including players.

If a player holds a Conduction tool in their hand, it will gather energy from damaged mobs around them. During this time, the player will see a gray lightning bolt indicator on the screen and will gain 2 minutes and 40 seconds of Strength II and Haste IV. When the timer runs out, lightning will strike depending on the amount of damage dealt by the player during this time. When there is about 5 seconds left of the timer, the indicator will flash on and off.

Lightning will strike even if there is a block overhead. Movement, whether running, walking, or flying, has no effect on the charge time for Conduction.
If the player deals enough damage, the lightning bolt will turn yellow, and when the timer runs out, lightning will strike at the block the player looks at, up to 20 blocks away. If the timer runs out and the player has not dealt enough damage, lightning will instead strike at the player's location. If the player deselects the item before the timer runs out, lightning will be struck at the player's location, regardless of damage dealt. However, in all cases, lightning will strike the topmost block, meaning if the player underground, it will strike the surface instead.

==== Cooldown ====
=== Technical Details ===
The Conduction tool must be recharged for about 16 seconds after each use.
The player must deal 3000 damage in order to charge up the ability. That is equivalent to 150 hearts of damage, which is equivalent to killing 15 zombies or any other mob with 10 hearts of health.

==== Limitations ====
==== Bugs ====
The player using the conduction tool may be struck if no other entity is nearby. Items, minecarts, and boats will not be targeted by conduction, though they can be broken or destroyed by it if it affects another entity near to it. Armor stands will not be broken by lightning that hits them, though they can be broken by the resulting fire.
If the player is looking downwards, they will be struck by lightning in all cases when lightning is summoned. At the moment striking lightning only works when looking straight ahead or higher.

Striking Lightning with Conduction

If a player holds a Conduction tool in their hand, it will gather energy from damaged mobs around them. During this time, the player will see a gray lightning bolt indicator on the screen and will gain 2 minutes and 40 seconds of Strength II and Haste IV. When the timer runs out, lightning will strike depending on the amount of damage dealt by the player during this time. When there is about 5 seconds left of the timer, the indicator will flash on and off.

Technical Details

The player must deal 3000 damage in order to charge up the ability. That is equivalent to 150 hearts of damage, which is equivalent to killing 15 zombies or any other mob with 10 hearts of health.

Bugs

If the player is looking downwards, they will be struck by lightning in all cases when lightning is summoned. At the moment striking lightning only works when looking straight ahead or higher.
