This module allows golden swords to inflict potion effects on mobs and players.
Details
When using a golden sword and if the player has any of the 4 compatible potions in their inventory, mobs (or in some cases the player) will be afflicted with a status effect without using up the potion.
Technical Summary
For Slowness and Poison, the area of effect on mobs is 3 blocks around the striker. For Instant Health and Invisibility, the area of effect on players is 5 blocks around the striker. The potion effects can be stacked, so a single sword swing can cause all 4 potion effects.
Striking a skeleton with the Poison II potion in the player's inventory will turn it into a wither skeleton. The wither skeleton will still hold a bow.
Effects
Carrying the following potion in your inventory will cause the corresponding effect.
Potion Type | Effect |
---|---|
Slowness (Extended) | Causes nearby mobs to be unable to move for 4 seconds |
Poison II | Withers nearby mobs for 4 seconds |
Instant Health II | Applies absorption for 8 seconds to nearby players including the striker |
Invisibility (Extended) | Applies invisibility for 4 seconds to nearby players except the striker |
